Wilton, Diptych
(National Gallery, London): One of the most brilliant examples of International Gothic style. Previously, it was considered as a work of the School of Paris, but now is believed that was created in England in the last decade of the 14th century. The theme of this truly charming work is the official presentation of King Richard II to the Virgin and Child by his patrons saints Edmond, Edward the Confessor and John the Baptist.
