Bridge, The
The first group of German and painters of expressionism. Founded in 1905 in Dresden and was disbanded in 1913. Her members were Kirchner, Nolde, Schmidt-Rottluf, Pechstain, Heckel and O. Muller. All these artists were inspired by Cézanne Gauguin in Van Gaga the Munch and from the art of Africa and the Pacific islands. Their works are characterized by a flat, linear, rhythmic expression and a tendency to simplify the forms and colors. Team members kept a public workshop were inspired by the ideals of the medieval guilds but also ensured the "urban" to support a system of subscribers. The woodcuts, posters are presented special interest that led to a real revival of the species and its establishment as an important expressive instrument of the 20th century.
