Vorticism
Similar in many points with Cubism and Italian Futurism, is a British movement of the 20th century. The name was invented in 1913 by Ezra Pound, although since 1912, had appeared designs of Lewis Woudcham that could be called Vorticistics. The only exhibition of the group was in 1915 and included works by G. Roberts, E. Gouantsworth, K.P. Nevinson and A. Gkontie-Brzeska. The magazine of the movement BLAST (Editor G. Lewis) that released in 1914, stopped at issue # 2 due to the war. By the outbreak of World War II, Vorticism disappeared as a movement. In 1920, there was a failed effort to revive under the name “Group X”.
