Hard-edge, Art of
A term which was devised, in 1958, by the American art critic, Jules Langsner, to describe the works of some artists, who were using clearly described forms and spot colors. By extension, using the term “Painting of Hard-edge” (or Post-painting removal), is indicated for any abstract painting that has these basic features (E. Kelly, K. Noland, F. Stella, etc.).
